Summer Term 2020

Updates for our Beavers, Cubs, Scouts & Explorers – Summer 2020

The Great Indoors

Happy Easter! We hope everyone is well.

Scouting does a great job in developing skills and bringing adventure to young people, and whilst we’re not going to be meeting at the Scout Hut for the next few weeks there’s loads our members can do at home.

You’ll find hundreds of activities at scouts.org.uk/activities and everything on here contributes towards a badge! Remember to send your leader some photos of you taking part so badge records can be updated.

The virtual Zoom meetings have been lots of fun and it’s wonderful to see our young people connecting with each other at a time where they might otherwise feel isolated. Lots more in the pipeline… stay tuned.

Lastly, a big well done to everyone that helped with our Community Impact Litter Pick of the Wilderness in March! We had nearly 70 people join us, hope you had lots of fun.

Molesey Beer Festival

We’re excited to launch the Molesey Beer Festival!

This will be a real community activity and a major fundraiser for the Group.
We’ll need your help to make it a success, more details soon.

Our favourite bits of last term!

I had lots of fun throwing the tomahawks it was a new skill that I hadn’t done before, turns out I was quite good at it because I hit the middle of the card. Such a fun day with my Sea Scouting friends.

Luke is a Tuesday Scout

It was very special to get my Chief Scout’s Silver award and I was proud. I’m looking forward to moving up to Scouts and hope now to get the Gold Award for a complete set!

Ned is a Monday Cub

Lastly, a big well done to everyone that helped with our Community Impact Litter Pick of the Wilderness in March! We had nearly 70 people join us, hope you had lots of fun.

An update from our Exec

We’re eager to grow the team of volunteers we have at the group and it’s be fantastic to chat with any of the parents that are interested in helping out more regularly. You don’t need to commit to helping each week and you don’t need any special skills.

In particular we need more regular support with Tuesday Scouts as well as volunteers to join the Fundraising Team which helps to organise events such as the Molesey Beer Festival.

We have over 500 children on our waiting list and our activities have never been more popular, we need your help now more than ever!
