Autumn Term 2020

Updates for our Beavers, Cubs, Scouts & Explorers – Autumn 2020

We are back!

In July we had the go-ahead to run face-to-face activities again at 1st Molesey.

Huge thanks to the leaders that put so much work into adapting our programme so it could be run in a Covid-safe way whilst still enabling our children to have enormous amounts of fun and experience adventure and learn new skills!

No less than 24 hours after receiving the green light, our Scouts were back on the water and the Cubs backwoods cooking at the Hut!

Several improvements were made to the Hut to ensure face-to-face activities could be run in a Covid-safe way. A fabulous new sink with touch-free taps was installed for better handwashing.

We supported others in the Scouts community by allowing groups that aren’t able to meet in their normal meeting place to make use of our outside space; looks like our friends at 9th Walton had fun!

Hike to the Moon

Lots of our Beavers, Cubs and Scouts joined in with the national Hike to the Moon project with their miles counting towards the total distance to the Moon (and back!). This project raised money for BBC Children in Need and Comic Relief, supporting those most affected by COVID-19.

May be an image of text that says "Scouts 1st Molesey (Jaguar) ...in a time of uncertainty Scouts helps young people develop the values, self-belief self and belief in others that will help them become confident, active citizens. We offer place to belong, skills to succeed and are optimistic about the future."
